ChirpBot is a free service that lets you issue commands through your computer or your phone using Twitter. Think of it as your command-line interface to the cloud.

The commands, called chirps, allow you to access all kinds of web-based content on demand, including sports scores, RSS feeds and more. But that’s just the beginning. ChirpBot can be used to control any web-enabled device – from rebooting a web server to changing the thermostat in your home (coming soon).

ChirpBot Features:

• Commands are issued by sending direct messages or @replies to the @chirpbot Twitter user
• Responses from @chirpbot are sent to your Twitter account (or, if too long to fit in a Tweet, are sent to you via e-mail)
• Get started in seconds: just sign in, and you're ready to go!
• We play nice! We use OAuth to access Twitter, so we don't store your login credentials.
